After the nicest day off ever near Lisbon it was time to get back to business. Day-off had taken it's toll on most of us, but I was actually feeling really good. The Venue, Sala Heineken, was in the heart of Madrid so with our huge nightliner and a big trailer it took some time to get there. Since we were in down town Madrid there was no way we could have parked the bus anywhere near the venue. That ment crabbing all your gear you'll need during the day and after the show. Altough the Venue is rather famous one and tons of bigger bands have played there, it really sucked big time. Dark Tranquillity and us had to share the same 4 squaremeter room and the bus being gone there were basically no other place were you could hang out and kill your time. For our luck the weather was brilliant with temperature above 20 degrees Celsius and clear skies. We decided to hit the streets and to find out what Madrid had to offer. Beautiful city with nice parks. After a short walk we ended up in this nice little restaurant to eat some local burgers, since we weren't served with any food at the venue. Great food and lovely restaurant.
This was the second time we were playing in Madrid and the first time with Satyricon back in 2006 wasn't that good for us so we didn't have so high hopes about crowd reactions. We'll we couldn't be any more wrong. In the end of our set the whole venue was on fire and metalheads were cheering. We came, we played and we conquered!
After the set a quick shower in the ice cold water and then hitting the merch booth to meet the fans. It is always really nice to meet the fans and have a quick chats about this and that. I believe the fans appreciate it as well. After the venue was closed and we had our stuff in the bus we decided to hit the near by kebab restaurant for some nice döner's and durum's. Great ending for a great day. Madrid rocks!

What a GREAT day!!!
When I went to the concert, I couldn't know what was going to happen there...with you, guys. Last year I was in the same place with Dark Tranquillity and I wanted to come back because they're awesome, you know. I didn't know who Insomnium was, but when your show started...I looked around me for asking my friends about you: -What's this? Who are these guys!? And... Who can play drums in this way ... and how it's possible that I don't know who is he???
I can't describe my surprise. Everything about your sound is so fucking amazing!
I lived one of the best shows in my life...and when it finished, I ran to Markus shouting "olut and tuoppi" hahahaha I know... what a crazy girl! But remember, I was in shock, I love drums and he is... GREAT.
So... last days I have been spending my time listening your music and talking about you to my friends.

You boys look awefully tame in this set of pictures. Is it because you don't know who's reading your blog? How do you expect us to get that voyeuristic sense of excitement with pictures like these? Something needs to be done, and soon. My fingers are getting arthritis!
The guys don't only look tame, they ARE tame! Cute little home sweet home boys from tinytiny Finland experiencing the huge, wide world. So no wonder... Should they be drinking bull blood on the pics to make themselves more convincing?
I guess that would be the solution...
